RTT Alliance
The RealTimeText Alliance is a marketing consortium of pan-European companies, with a global mission to promote, market and implement Real-Time Text. For the benefit of deaf and hard of hearing or speech impaired people all over the world. The founding members of the RTT Alliance are 4C Telecom, OpenCloud, HTK, RSIC and AnnieS. The initiative to develop a carrier grade text communication platform was taken by 4C Telecom, who are heading the Alliance, about three years ago. Membership is open to companies who can contribute to the global rollout and future development of the Real Time Text Service.
Through the support of organizations such as the ISOC who established the Real Time Text Taskforce to further promote accessibility of telecommunications and the standardization of Real Time Text as has been done in the IETF. The FCC, RNID, European Union (ETSI), TAG and OFCOM also support RTT. Real-Time Text will become a ubiquitous channel of public access for deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech impaired people, across all core government services.
This is the first time that an implementation of the World Standard text telephony is available. This is done by an ecosystem of companies who joined forces in the Real Time Text Alliance.
